About this Project

At Garland ISD Career Technology Center, USA Renovations had a fantastic opportunity to provide long-lasting, beautiful, polished Concrete and stained concrete flooring, just ten minutes down the road from our central office in Dallas Forth Worth, Texas. We started with a Class B aggregate exposure, followed by custom color stain and Level 3 finish. We provided 3 custom colors, for which we worked closely with Ameripolish, who manufacturers the stain, and the Garland CTE design team to provide a one-off color scheme that would be the right fit for this school. The polished concrete at a level 3 finish works perfectly to reflect the natural light coming in from the large rows of windows at the face of the building, while simultaneously providing a safe, durable, and low-maintenance flooring system keeping students safe for years. We also installed a trowel down mortar flooring system in the bathrooms, along with integral cove base. This resinous flooring system is ideal for restroom areas that need to be resilient to harsh chemicals, and the integral cove base and sloped drains allow for very easy cleanup. The cost effectiveness of both systems comes from the long-term lifespans and durability, and can further be increased when used in conjunction to provide a total flooring system for schools, or any other high traffic applications.
